Fortnite for Android just got axed from the Google Play Store too – TechCrunch

After the epic game The company has fought Apple over a large portion of the company’s fees for transactions in its mobile ecosystem, and it looks like the Fortnate developer will be fighting on two fronts.

Epic added a direct payment option to its mobile game early Thursday, prompting Apple to remove Fortnight from the App Store. Now, the Android version of Fortnight is lost to Google Also own app market.

In a statement, Google defended the decision to remove Fortnight to break the rules of the platform:

The open Android ecosystem allows developers to distribute apps through multiple app stores. For game developers who want to use the Play Store, we have consistent policies that are fair to developers and keep the store safe for consumers. While Fortnight is available on Android, we can no longer make it available on Play because it violates our policies. However, we welcome the opportunity to continue our conversation with Epic and bring Fortnight back to Google Play.

Although Apex’s legal filing and gameplay blur prepares Apple’s famous 1984 commercial to fight out loud, it’s not the first epic chase on the mobile version of Fortune. The company has in fact decided to keep FortNet away from the Google Play Store in 2018, following complaints from Google and Apple about its current crusade against the 30% cut in sales in its App Stores. Fortnight is free to play, but players buy seasonal passes that unlock its development system, as well as a cosmetic item in the game, such as skins that make the epic a ton of money and don’t affect gameplay. ۔

When Epic brought Fortnight back to the Google Play Store this April, it did so with a statement condemning Google’s treatment of apps outside its own app market. While all of Apple’s iOS apps come from the App Store, Google actually allows apps like Fortnate to be sidelined outside of Google Play, but the experience is generally less smooth and with it malware. There are also warnings about.

“Through Google’s download and update software, binding manufacturer and carrier agreements and issues such as awesome, recurring security pop-ups, technical and business measures enable Google to download software outside of Google. Because of this, we’ve launched Fortnight on the Google Play Store for Android, “said a spokesman for Epic Games in April.

Fortnight is still available on Android, not through the Google App Store. On its website, Epic directs players to download directly via QR code, and the game is also available on support devices through Samsung’s Galaxy Store.
